Happy Halloween

I had big plans for this festive weekend. None of those plans came about. I had wanted to make those cute little cake-pops for a Halloween party yesterday. I had wanted to drive The Short Chic over to her friend Miss Thing's home to say Happy Halloween. But instead, I am supporting the couch.

Tylenol is no longer helping ease the pain of the Neupogen shots. My knees have ached for two days straight. Other bones have ached this weekend; my arms, my fingers, and my chins. I have tried Tylenol, Advil, and even Vicodin.

Nothing is cutting the pain.

Tonight is my little girls second time to go trick-or-treating. I do not believe I will be able to walk door to door with her.

    I'm so sorry Pammie that this last round and those neupogen shots have been so hard. I hope you got to go trick-or-treating with little O but I KNOW you will have many more opportunities and you WILL take advantage of them!! xoxo

    I enjoyed visiting with you yesterday, so glad you called. You are going to make it through, I have no doubt! I'm sorry you didn't get to go trick or treating, but glad you were well enough to pass out candy. Hang in there dear!

    Thanks Friends! I did not get to trick-or-treat with Olivia. Instead, I handed out treats to our visitors. Olivia is only 2, she will have many more Halloween's that I will walk with her door to door!

Today is an anniversary date. One of those dates you wish you did not have to remember but there is no way you can forget.  Fifteen years ago today,two days after his birthday, my father died of lung cancer. He was a lifelong smoker and his cancer was aggressive. His battle was short. He fought for six short months after his diagnosis. He knew the chemo was not working and that his time was limited. Tour of Missouri: Montauk State Park and The Ozark National Scenic Riverway

August has become our summer vacation month. Summer activities have usually wound down and we like to get one last hooray in before school starts.  This summer we decided to travel our own state and visit a few places we have been dreaming of visiting but were a little too far for a weekend road trip. Despite last minute vacation glitches we managed to pull out of Kansas City around 9:00 in the morning headed to Montauk State Park just outside of Licking, Missouri.  Montauk State Park is one of three state parks where you can trout fish in Missouri. We are frequent visitors of  Bennett Springs  State Park but not Montauk, just because of the travel distance from our house. (Bennett Springs is about 3 hours and Montauk is double that.)
