So, I am not sure what happened. I opened my blog from my ipad and the next thing I know, my entire post was deleted!! Total devastation! So, I am going to recreate my post. Which I know will not be as good as the first. Last week  I was traveling and away from my family.  I don't mind being away a night but four nights is a lot! I needed something to keep me busy. My best friend still had not had her baby so I thought I should start preparing for her upcoming Sip and See. I know, you are asking "A what and who?" A Sip and See. It is a type of shower that happens after the baby is born. My BFF is very non-traditional and this type of shower seemed appropriate. We are going to have people over, have a SIP of something fruity  and SEE the baby! Since the baby is being born at the birth of spring, our theme is spring. I love the 80's. I think I immersed myself in about every style trend that came out in the 80's. Neon, jelly shoes, knickers, big hair, off-the-shoulder sweaters, friendship pins, and of course leg warmers. I am happy to see that leg warmers are coming back in style. And they are so much cuter now than they use to be. So you can imagine how excited I was during a recent shopping trip to Hobby Lobby when I saw leg warmers! I picked up a few supplies to jazz up these little leg warmers for The Short Chic. Pink Polka Dot leggings, a variety of ribbon, and some glitter buttons. This morning I sat down at my sewing machine and sewed the pink ribbon to the top of the leggings.  It was not hard, just a tight stretch around the sewing machine. In the end, the ribbon looks pretty good around the top of the leggings.  Next I took 7/8 inch Hot Pink Grosgrain ribbon and cut a piece several inches long. Cinderella is playing at our outdoor theatre. I got tickets for The Short Chic and I to go to Sunday's performance.  When The Short Chic threatened to wear her hot and frayed Cinderella costume to the performance, I knew I had to come up with a better option.  Just so you can see...This is The Short Chic dressed up like Cinderella. She obviously puts a lot of time and effort into playing this role. I decided to make a pillowcase dress. My friend Meeghan made one for her daughter not too long ago and it turned out to be such a cute dress! I used a tutorial from  Viola & Pearl  and found out not only does the dress look cute, it is so simple to make that even a novice sewer like myself can whip it out in no time. So, I am not going to provide you with a tutorial because Viola & Peal really do a great job. But I am going to show you the finished product! I sewed the Cinderella applique on by machine. Last weekend one of the bloggers I follow posted about her weekend using photos. Normally, my weekends are filled with exciting things like: house cleaning, grocery shopping, laundry, running to and from baseball practices, doing the dishes, ect. Who wants to see or know about those exciting parts of my life? That is correct: No one except maybe my mother! But...this weekend! This week is different, this weekend is BUSY! I have tried my best to snag some photos of our weekends Friday Night: Mexican Food!  Never fails, after training 5/5 days, I am exhausted! I slept on the coach from 7 to 9, got up and went back to bed at 10:00. After training all week long, all I wanted on Friday night was some Mexican Food and a Beer. My family raves about my homemade guacamole and not to brag but I do make a good guacamole.
